Community Assemblies

All-School Assemblies take place throughout the year, typically on Thursdays. These meetings consist of student presentations, musical programs, and sharing of student work. Occasionally there are guest speakers or performers. The content of All-School Assemblies reflects the school’s mission and curriculum.
Careful thought is given to making sure that the content is meaningful and accessible to students at all grade levels, as well as to families and visitors who may attend. Several assemblies are specifically designed to support the school’s antiracism and antihomophobia mission. These include the Gay and Lesbian Pride Assembly, the Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly, and the Festival of African Drum and Dance. All assemblies encourage the development of community within the school and are developed keeping the school’s Quaker Testimonies (Equality, Peace, Integrity, Community, Stewardship, and Simplicity) in mind.
