Antiracist Education

Challenging Racism

Since the mid-1980s, Cambridge Friends School has been commited to being an antiracist community—that is, to be a community that more actively challenges racism. This goal, which contributes to academic excellence, encourages students to work for social and racial justice, and sets the standard of equality for all students.

Issues of race and racism are integrated into the overall program in all classrooms in developmentally appropriate ways, pre-K through grade 8. Teachers and administrators work to assess and plan the school’s ongoing efforts. The Community and Equity Committee coordinates these efforts and is available as a resource to faculty, staff, students, and parents and guardians.
