Educating Educators: Harvard Students Visit CFS

Cambridge Friends School was honored to welcome five student observers and their course assistant from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education in October. Guided by Head of Middle School and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Jack Hill, the observers had a full morning at CFS! They began with coffee and an overview of CFS as an institution: what makes the school unique, the philosophy behind antibias education, and how we reach every type of learner. The group then observed a variety of classes in both the Lower and Middle School to give them the best overview of how Cambridge Friends School educators shape their students’ learning.
The School has long been a forerunner in the progressive education movement, and it was wonderful having the opportunity to guide new teachers through the program. We look forward to developing a continuing relationship with HGSE to educate the next generation of progressive educators.
