CFS Graduate Miles Robinson ’11 Helps Lead Atlanta United to MLS Cup Victory

One of the rising stars of US soccer is none other than CFS grad Miles Robinson, ’11. Robinson was a first draft pick for Atlanta United and stepped in for teammate Jeff Larentowicz after an injury forced him on the bench during the MLS playoff game against NYCFC (New York City Football Club) on Sunday, November 11.
After playing only 27 full minutes on the field all season, the opportunity to start in the playoffs was tremendous. Of Robinson’s performance, goalie Brad Guzan said, “To have someone like that get kind of thrown into the deep end, in terms of not really playing a lot of games or a lot of minutes leading up into tonight, to have the performance that he put in tonight, he deserves all the credit in the world.” Atlanta won the game 3-1, moved ahead to the Conference Championship Series and ultimately won the 2018 MLS Cup 2-0 against the Portland Timbers on December 8.
Huge congratulations to Robinson and the entire Five Stripes team on winning the MLS Cup! This New England school has a new reason to root for the South in next year’s season.
