Athletics should instill a sense of commitment, teamwork, and respect for self and others.

The primary aim of Cambridge Friends School’s athletic program is to provide the best possible team experience for all students who are interested. The interscholastic athletic program strives to be grounded in the basic philosophy of the School. We believe that philosophy and the competitive spirit of sports can be complementary to one another.

Our athletic program is designed to help players improve and master various skills and, perhaps even more importantly, work on developing good sports-like behavior, discipline, cooperation, and leadership. Other key parts of our program are mental focus, positive thinking, teamwork, and game strategy. We instill through athletics a sense of commitment, self-respect, and respect for opponents, coaches, and officials. We feel strongly that these aspects of sport are indispensable to the success of the team as well as the growth of each team member.

Beginning in fifth grade and continuing through eighth grade, Cambridge Friends School offers interscholastic teams in soccer and basketball. There is a no-cut policy, which provides the opportunity for all students to participate on a team.

We are looking forward to a great season!
