The public is invited to join Cambridge Friends School on Monday, May 14, for a seminar on Mindfulness: Attention, Balance, and Compassion in School and at Home.
It will be
an evening of multiple perspectives on bringing mindfulness to children and families in an educational setting. Learn the research behind mindfulness in education, health and happiness, as well as practices and specific strategies to bring home to your family. Registration is recommended

|CFS Teacher Advances to Final Round for Teaching Tolerance Award|
Cambridge Friends School second-grade teacher Chris Hoeh has been selected as one of ten finalists for the 2014 Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award honors successful anti-bias educators whose practice exemplifies these three commitments: Reducing Prejudice, Improving Intergroup Relations, and Creating Equitable School Environments. Five winners will be selected in May to receive a $2,500 prize and travel to the Southern Poverty Law Center headquarters, where they will work together on a collaborative project to be shared with the Teaching Tolerance community.
