|Grade 6 Builds Community at Farm School|
In Middle School, overnight trips like the sixth-grade stay at the Farm School and the seventh-grade visit to the Sargent Center provide opportunities for the class to learn outside the classroom while doing things students might not have the occasion to do otherwise. These types of activities not only help nurture self-confidence, they also build community, foster teamwork, and open minds to possibilities.
|Learning Language in the Context of Culture|
Learning the Spanish language at Cambridge Friends School means learning about the many cultures that speak Spanish. Middle School students select a country in which Spanish is the predominant language, research the food associated with the region, design a menu for a restaurant that would serve it, and then prepare food to share with each other. Experiencing a sampling of the variety of foods associated with the Spanish language, students appreciate one context for language.
