Antihomophobia Education

We have committed ourselves to appreciating and celebrating the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) people, while educating children about the serious problems posed by homophobia and heterosexism. We work to create an environment that opposes antigay bias and encourages all members of our community who are gay to be themselves, openly, comfortably, and in full equity. We also work to educate heterosexual people about the importance of taking leadership in this area. In light of these goals, life at CFS includes the following:

  • antihomophobia curriculum
  • annual Gay and Lesbian Pride Day celebration
  • educational opportunities for faculty
  • Rainbow Lunch for students who live in GLBT headed families
  • participation in the Boston Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade

  • support and community building group for GLBT families and their heterosexual allies

The director of antihomophobia education guides and coordinates all of the above.
